The Opportunity
A premier health organization in Ithaca, NY is looking for a licensed Physical Therapist to join a supportive outpatient clinic focused on orthopedic and general rehabilitation. You'll manage patients through their full recovery journey — from initial evaluation to discharge — in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. Your Day-to-Day
- Conduct initial evaluations and build individualized treatment plans for each patient
- Deliver therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/ice therapy
- Educate patients on home exercise programs, posture correction, and injury prevention to support long-term functional outcomes
- Monitor progress and adjust plans to keep patients on track with their rehabilitation goals
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care
- Maintain accurate documentation — treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries — in compliance with departmental and industry standards
- Uphold a clean, safe clinic environment in line with infection control and safety protocols
What We're Looking For
- Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program
- Licensure: Valid PT license in New York, or eligibility to obtain licensure at time of hire
- Certifications: BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
- Experience: Prior outpatient physical therapy experience preferred
- Skills: Strong communication and collaboration with patients, families, and care team members; solid organizational and time-management ability
- Patient care: Demonstrated ability to treat a diverse caseload including orthopedic, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions
- Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs independently and up to 150 lbs with assistance; frequent standing, walking, and patient movement throughout the shift
