We are seeking an Outside Mechanic near the Gulf Coast. They will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment aboard Fuel Derrick Anchor and Drag barges to support safe and efficient operations. Duties include performing preventive and corrective maintenance troubleshooting equipment issues coordinating repairs with service vendors and maintaining compliance with USCG requirements and company safety standards. This position reports directly to the Attendant Plant Maintenance Superintendent & Manager and may require travel to multiple project sites as directed.

The Companys commitment to the IIF culture promotes a work environment where employee safety is paramount.Experience RequiredExperience operating and maintaining mechanical equipment aboard Fuel Derrick Anchor and Drag bargesExperience performing preventive corrective and routine maintenance on onboard machinery and vessel systemsExperience diagnosing troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment issuesExperience servicing inspecting and troubleshooting engines transmissions and torque convertersExperience working with service vendors during repair activitiesKnowledge of USCG and ABS regulatory compliance requirementsMust be able to travel to multiple project sites as directedOther RequirementsMust maintain a valid Tankerman endorsementMust be able to maintain accurate transfer and oil record books in accordance with USCG requirementsMust be self-motivated dependable and committed to safety and accountabilityMust be able to communicate equipment issues requiring outside contractor support to supervisionStrong commitment to high-quality maintenance standardsGreat Lakes Dredge & Dock Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
