Position Overview
Outside Plant (OSP) Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and completion of outside plant (OSP) telecommunications projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key areas:
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Developing timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans for OSP construction and upgrades
Construction Oversight
- Supervising field crews and subcontractors during installation of fiber cables, underground conduits, and aerial infrastructure
Vendor and Contractor Management
- Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure project goals are met
Quality Control
- Inspecting completed work to meet safety and performance standards
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintaining accurate records of project progress, expenses, and changes, and providing updates to stakeholders
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, or related degree
- 5+ years of Project Management experience
- Proficiency with project management software and GIS systems
- Experience with fiber optic networks, splicing, testing, and construction standards
- Strategic Development, Critical Thinking, Adaptability, & Execution
- Communication & Collaboration
- Team leadership & Ability to make critical decisions with little input from others
Preferred Qualifications
- OSP engineering experience
- Start-up experience
- Experience with 3 GIS and/or ESRI
Travel Requirement: 25%
Expected Salary Range: [$105,000 - $165,000] Base Salary + Discretionary Bonus
