Outside Sales Representative - Tri-Cities, TN - Built for Growth, Relationships & Market Impact

MHI is looking for an Outside Sales Representative to grow our presence throughout the Tri-Cities market. This is a relationship-driven sales role for someone who enjoys being out in the field, meeting customers, uncovering opportunities, and finding solutions that make their businesses run better. You'll have the opportunity to build your own customer base, develop long-term relationships, and directly impact the growth of MHI across the Tri-Cities area.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute a territory growth strategy across the Tri-Cities market
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned accounts and target markets
• Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers
• Conduct sales calls, site visits, equipment demonstrations, and customer presentations
• Learn each customer's operation and identify opportunities to improve their productivity and efficiency
• Recommend equipment, service, parts, rental, and other material handling solutions based on customer needs
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a strong customer experience from initial sale through ongoing support
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately forecast opportunities
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs
• Represent MHI professionally throughout the Tri-Cities market and material handling industry
• Utilize CRM tools to manage customer relationships, activities, and opportunities

• Generate consistent new customer and business development activity
• Grow equipment, service, parts, rental, and solutions revenue

Background & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in outside sales, business development, account management, or a related role
• Experience in material handling, industrial equipment, construction, manufacturing, distribution, or a related industry is preferred
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Ability to identify opportunities and independently develop and close business
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Experience using CRM systems and sales tools
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory

We are especially interested in candidates who live in or around the Tri-Cities area, including Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol, TN and surrounding communities.
