The Center for Youth: Started BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH. We partner with youth to realize their full potential, by creating opportunities, removing barriers and promoting social justice.
Overview:
Our free, confidential and voluntary, 13-bed shelter serves youth, 12-17 years old, for up to 30 days. Counselors provide nonjudgmental, individualized support to help youth reunite with their families or find alternative, stable housing.
Schedule:
- Full-Time Overnight Hours: Sunday and Monday 10p-8a Wednesday 8a-6p and Thursday 10p-8a
- Part-Time Overnight Hours: Tuesday 10p-8a, Friday 9:30p- 7:30a and Saturday 9:30p- 7:30a
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of: wake-up, clean-up, daily chores and bedtime
- Distribution of medications and appropriate documentation
- Liaison with Intake and Emergency Shelter Support (Counseling) teams
- Individual counseling and mentoring
- After-hour response, assessment and intake of youth in need
- Development and supervision of social, cultural and recreational activities
- Crisis/conflict/prevention/intervention, response and intervention
- Maintenance of accurate and timely program records
- Maintenance of facility and grounds
- Daily meal planning and preparation
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field AND 1-2 years' experience in a residential youth program OR Equivalent
- A valid Driver's license

Pay Rate: $19.50- $21.50 per hour
