What Does a Personal Care Aide Do?

As a Personal Care Aide, you'll provide compassionate, one-on-one care to clients in the comfort of their own homes. Duties may include:

• Assisting clients with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, and toileting
• Providing companionship and emotional support
• Providing respite for the client's primary caregiver by allowing them to get restful night of sleep
• Assisting the client with mobility/positioning as needed throughout the night
• Supporting clients' comfort, dignity, and independence

Scheduling Requirement: Availability to work every other weekend and every other holiday is required.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Six months experience in a comparable care aide job, current CNA license or completed first semester of nursing school
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license, current auto insurance and own reliable transportation
• Two professional references
• Successful completion of a background check
• Current CPR certification preferred, but not required
