PA School Bus Instructor/Driver

Immediate need for a PA School Bus Instructor for a new Philadelphia bus yard.  This will be a start up position for a qualified and experienced candidate.

The Instructor will be responsible for training, testing, and certifying new and existing school bus drivers in compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) regulations, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards, and 67 PA Code Chapter 71.  They will be required to provide classroom training, behind the wheel training, evaluations and testing and maintain regulatory compliance.  In addition, a daily route will be assigned.

 

Requirements:

2 + years of Instructor/Training experience 

Valid PA Class B CDL with P&S endorsements (2+ years) with a clean driving record

Must hold and maintain a valid PA School Bus Driver/Instructor-Coordinator Certification (required by PennDOT)

Current DOT physical examination medical card, valid CPR certification and be able to pass all background checks, including child abuse 

Strong working knowledge of state traffic laws, student management strategies and effective communication and patience

Must be able to communicate and read in English
