Our client, a manufacturer in Council Bluffs, Iowa, is hiring a Packaging Department Manager to lead their packaging operation. You will manage 3 supervisors and about 90 team members (leads, production workers, operators and forklift drivers) across a three-shift operation.

Job Details

What You’ll Do

Set goals and metrics for the department and lead the team to meet or beat them
Build the department budget and keep labor and other expenses in line
Plan staffing and schedules to meet customer requirements, and approve leave and overtime
Keep inventory accurate and records of all transactions up to date
Work with internal and external customers to meet their requirements on time
Drive continuous improvement and document standard operating procedures
Coach your team through feedback, training and performance reviews
Work with HR on hiring, performance concerns and discipline

What You Bring

5+ years of increasingly responsible management experience, or equivalent education and experience
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration or a related field, or equivalent experience
Advanced knowledge of production and manufacturing operations
Strong math, organizational and project management skills, plus Microsoft Office
Ability to lead and inspire a team, and to communicate clearly with upper leadership
