Packaging Engineer

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Salary: $105,000–$125,000
Schedule: Hybrid – 3–4 days per week in office

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Packaging Systems Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting projects within the food and beverage manufacturing industries.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on the design, review, and implementation of packaging systems within manufacturing environments. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop packaging solutions that efficiently move finished goods from production lines through downstream packaging operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and support the design of packaging systems within manufacturing environments.
• Develop and review packaging system layouts and equipment designs.
• Support project execution from initial design through implementation and startup.
• Evaluate material flow, equipment feeding and starving, product runout, and accumulation requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, process, and controls engineering.
• Support the integration of packaging equipment and systems into existing manufacturing operations.
• Work directly with clients and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in the food and/or beverage industries preferred.
• Experience with packaging systems and delivering engineering projects within food and/or beverage manufacturing environments.
• Background in machine design preferred.
• Understanding of material flow, equipment feeding/starving, product runout, and accumulation requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with 2D and/or 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or NX.
• Understanding of multidisciplinary engineering, including electrical, process, and PC&IS.
• Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
• On-site manufacturing, in-plant, and startup experience preferred.
