Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support & Training
  • Provide advanced technical support for all electronic systems, including eDHR and MSP.
  • Deliver technical training to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Operations regarding new and existing equipment and process changes.
  • Develop and present training materials tailored to team needs.
  • Coordinate and facilitate technical skill development and line management coaching for team members.
  • Equipment & Process Improvement
  • Lead as the technical expert for equipment upgrades and improvements on packaging lines.
  • Collaborate with Engineering & Operations to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Integrate new technologies into the packaging process, including machine design and layout input during project Design Reviews.
  • Drive process enhancements, review non-conformance data, address quality concerns, support protocol implementation, and oversee deployment of improvements.
  • Apply expertise in equipment development, installation, construction, debugging, qualification (from concept through Site Acceptance Testing), and maintenance of packaging machinery, including PLC systems, electro-mechanical devices, safety devices, and control circuitry.
  • Project & Team Leadership
  • Participate as Mechanical and/or Installation Lead in project Core Teams.
  • Coordinate safety, quality, and production escalations as needed.
  • Provide peer leadership by coaching, scheduling, monitoring, communicating, and problem-solving for all line activities.
  • Demonstrate ability to cover for Supervisor in non-supervisory activities.
  • Procurement & Supplier Coordination
  • Submit purchase requisitions and manage spare parts ordering and budget.
  • Engage local suppliers to source necessary parts and materials.
  • Line Management & Quality Assurance
  • Understand and communicate all processes and systems involved in the end-to-end packaging process.
  • Actively involved in both Tier 1 and Tier 2 daily management processes.
  • Work as a liaison with engineering and other technical support teams to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
  • Travel as required to support machine factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).
  • Assist Senior Packaging Technicians as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Vocational/Technical certificate or associate degree in engineering, technology, or a related field, or equivalent industrial experience.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Vocational/Technical certificate or associate degree in engineering, technology, or a related field, or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of college, trade, or military training in technical discipline.
  • At least 6 years of relevant industrial experience in areas such as process engineering, injection molding, electro-mechanical systems, electrical systems, and PLC programming.
  • 5 years of project management experience, including overseeing equipment development, installation, qualification, and production start-up.
  • Experience as a shift lead in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on expertise with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), CribMaster, MOC (Management of Change), CR (Change Request), and related systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • JNJ Electrical certification (Green or Blue Badge).
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical requirements: ability to stoop, walk, pull, lift up to 25 lbs., grasp, hear, see, kneel, reach, push, talk, and stand for extended periods.
  • Experience coordinating safety, quality, and production escalations.

Preferred:

  • Vocational, Certificate, Technical, or Associate degree with emphasis in electro-mechanical systems, PLC, pneumatics, or related industrial technology.
  • Experience working in regulated environments under International Standards Organization (ISO), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and technical skills in:
  • Process improvement methodologies
  • Packaging line operations and equipment
  • PLC systems and programming
  • Electro-mechanical devices and safety systems
  • Equipment installation, debugging, and qualification
  • Control circuitry and repair
  • Production start-up procedures

Other:

  • Potential for work-related travel to support equipment testing and implementation.
  • Provide support during nights and weekends as needed by the business.
  • International and Domestic travel 2-5%
  • English Fluency required
