Job Summary The Packaging Technician is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant cleaning, setup, operation, and documentation of packaging activities for oral solid dose (OSD) and other controlled pharmaceutical products. This role requires strict adherence to cGMPs, SOPs, FDA, and DEA regulations while supporting production goals in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Follow Master Batch Records for packaging controlled OSD and other dosage forms.
Set up, operate, and clean packaging equipment in accordance with SOPs and batch records.
Perform in process testing, inspections, and visual checks for quality and consistency.
Clean and sanitize equipment, components, and rooms per GMP requirements.
Complete accurate, timely documentation following Good Documentation Practices.
Process labels and components (transferring, counting, FIFO, returns, etc.).
Maintain reliable attendance and work overtime as needed.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:
Ability to move/traverse, climb ladders, stairs, and platforms.
Wear required PPE, including Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
Push/pull and transport materials such as drums, totes, boxes, and pallets.
Push/maneuver drums up to 275 lbs (up to five times/day).
Lift empty drums up to 40 lbs (up to five times/day).
Perform equipment cleaning and assembly/disassembly involving pulling, pushing, twisting; parts may weigh up to 50 lbs.
Visually inspect tablets/capsules for defects, color consistency, and shape.
Work a 10.5 hour shift, four days per week, with overtime as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to perform basic to complex math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Understanding of the Metric System.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Required skills: OSD Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering fundamentals, Master Batch Records.
Preferred: Experience in OSD pharmaceutical packaging with serialization.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Three or more years of pharmaceutical or packaging industry experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education, mechanical skill, and related experience.
