Job Summary:
The Packaging Technician will efficiently, effectively, and safely clean, set up, and operate packaging machinery for controlled oral solid dose (OSD) and other dosage forms. This role requires strict adherence to cGMPs, SOPs, FDA, and DEA guidelines while maintaining high standards of quality, documentation accuracy, and operational excellence.
Primary Responsibilities
Follow Master Batch Records for packaging controlled OSD and other dosage forms.
Set up, operate, and clean packaging equipment in compliance with SOPs and batch records.
Perform in process testing and inspections to ensure product quality.
Clean and sanitize packaging equipment, components, and rooms.
Complete accurate, timely documentation following GMP and good documentation practices.
Process labeling and components (transferring, counting, FIFO, returns, etc.).
Maintain regular attendance and work overtime as required.

Physical & Environmental Requirements
Ability to occasionally climb ladders, stairs, and platforms.
Wear required PPE, including PAPR.
Transport materials using manual and power assisted vehicles.
Lift/maneuver empty drums up to 40 lbs and full drums up to 275 lbs (up to five times per day).
Visually inspect tablets/capsules for color consistency, shape, and defects.
Perform equipment cleaning and assembly/disassembly involving pulling, pushing, twisting, and lifting parts up to 50 lbs.
Work a 10.5 hour shift, four days per week, with overtime as needed.
Required Skills & Knowledge
Ability to perform basic to complex mathematical computations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Understanding of the Metric System.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Preferred Skills
Experience in oral solid dose (OSD) pharmaceutical packaging.
Experience with Serialization processes.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Three or more years of pharmaceutical or packaging industry experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, mechanical skill, and related experience.
