We are seeking a licensed Pain Psychologist to provide comprehensive behavioral health services for Veterans in Brooklyn, NY & Manhattan, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience treating chronic pain conditions using evidence-based psychological interventions and working within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Length: 6-12 months (option to extend)
Start Date: ASAP quick credentialing to train/onboard
Hours: Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8AM to 4:30PM
Location: Brooklyn, NY & Manhattan, NY
Pay: $75 - $80/Hour
Responsibilities
Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations for patients with chronic pain.
Provide evidence-based interventions including CBT for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based interventions, and biofeedback.
Deliver individual and group psychotherapy services.
Provide psychoeducation, behavioral activation, and functional restoration support.
Offer family and caregiver counseling when appropriate.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary pain management teams.
Complete clinical documentation and treatment plans within VA electronic health record systems.
Participate in telehealth services using VA-approved platforms as needed.
Qualifications
Required Education
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited program.
Completion of an APA- or CPA-accredited pre-doctoral internship.
Required Experience
Minimum of 2 years of professional psychology experience.
Experience providing behavioral health interventions for chronic pain.
Experience in health psychology, behavioral medicine, or chronic pain management preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
Current, full, unrestricted Psychology license in any U.S. state or territory.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
Work Environment
On-site position with services provided at VA facilities in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Occasional travel between sites may be required based on patient care needs.
No on-call responsibilities
