Core Responsibilities
Assist painters with surface preparation (cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking)
Mix paints, coatings, and solvents according to specifications
Maintain and clean spray equipment, brushes, and tools
Help apply coatings to equipment, pipes, and structural components
Move materials and parts in and out of the paint area
Ensure proper labeling and storage of chemicals and materials
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety procedures, especially when handling chemicals and solvents
Wear required PPE (respirators, gloves, coveralls, eye protection)
Assist in maintaining a clean, hazard-free work environment
Comply with environmental and workplace regulations
Work Environment
Industrial shop or fabrication yard
Exposure to fumes, noise, and heavy equipment
Physically active role (lifting, standing, bending for long periods)
Basic Requirements
High school diploma or GED (often preferred, not always required)
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Basic knowledge of tools and safety practices is a plus
Willingness to learn industrial painting techniques
Physical fitness for manual labor
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with sandblasting or spray painting
Familiarity with industrial coatings or corrosion protection
Forklift or rigging experience
