Paraeducator

• Instructional Support: Provide instruction as directed by the teacher to individuals in a variety of areas, including cognitive development, gross and fine motor skills, feeding skills, self-help skills, and behavior control.
• Health and Safety: Assist teachers in maintaining the health and safety of physically challenged students by being aware of the environment and the potential hazards of each student's actions.
• Personal Care: Assist students with personal hygiene, including washing hands and faces, toileting, and changing diapers and clothing as needed.
• Behavior Management: Monitor and control student behavior in accordance with established guidelines and implement positive behavior intervention support policies.
• Physical Assistance: Assist other specialists with physical development activities and aid students with braces or other orthopedic equipment to lift, position, and reposition as needed.
• Collaborative Care: Collaborate with case workers, general education teachers, and other staff as needed, while assisting students with social interactions.
• Documentation and Training: Prepare students for mainstreamed classes according to established procedures, assist in maintaining a variety of records related to student progress, and attend periodic or special training as required.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have experience with children, students, or general caregiving.
• Experience with Autistic Support, Special Education, or Behavioral Health/Mental Health is preferred.
