Position Title: Paralegal/ Legal Assistant
Location: Houston, TX
Assignment Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $60,000-70,000
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-5
Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
Summary / Role Overview
The Paralegal / Legal Assistant provides comprehensive support to an internal legal team across a broad range of legal and administrative functions. This role assists with contract administration, corporate compliance, litigation support, risk management, and project coordination, while also serving as a point of contact for internal business partners. The position requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Legal & Administrative Support
- Support day‑to‑day legal operations by coordinating legal and administrative matters with internal teams
- Assist with contract lifecycle management, including tracking, organization, and approvals
- Conduct factual research, gather information, and prepare concise summaries related to legal matters
- Draft correspondence and routine legal documents under attorney direction
- Prepare standard reports and assist with data analysis as needed
Document & Matter Management
- Organize, collect, and manage both electronic and hard‑copy legal documents
- Maintain legal files and utilize matter management and document tracking systems
- Manage and update a library of legal templates, forms, and standardized documents
- Coordinate responses to subpoenas, discovery requests, and other legal inquiries
Coordination & Communication
- Act as a liaison between the legal team and internal stakeholders
- Track deadlines, approvals, and documentation related to legal matters
- Escalate issues as appropriate and seek attorney guidance when needed
- Support project coordination related to legal initiatives
General Support
- Perform general office and administrative tasks related to legal operations
- Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned

Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- At least three years of experience in an in‑house legal department or law firm environment preferred
- Demonstrated experience supporting legal operations, contracts, and document management
Preferred Qualifications
- Paralegal certification
- Notary registration (state‑specific, preferred but not required)
- Exposure to enterprise legal or document management software

- Fluency in English; bilingual capabilities are a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all organizational levels
- Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and sound judgment
- Self‑motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Professional, tactful approach when handling sensitive or difficult situations
Supervisory Responsibility
- This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities
Physical & Work Environment
- Primarily office‑based, indoor work environment
- Regular use of standard office equipment
- May involve sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to approximately 25 pounds
- Occasional overtime may be required
- Limited local and out‑of‑area travel may be necessary
