An established litigation law firm is seeking a Paralegal in Seattle, WA to support attorneys with case preparation, discovery, research, and trial-related work. This role is suited for a detail-oriented legal professional with experience in insurance defense or other litigation matters.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Hours: Standard business
- Setting: Hybrid (three days in the office, two remote days if converted)
Responsibilities:
- Support two attorneys with litigation matters, including case preparation and ongoing docket management.
- Obtain and organize medical records, authorizations, subpoenas, and related case documentation.
- Draft discovery requests and responses, complaints, witness disclosures, declarations, and affidavits.
- Conduct legal and factual research, including public records requests and background investigations.
- Prepare case materials for depositions, expert review, and trial, while maintaining organized files and records.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in a Litigation setting
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience billing time in a law firm environment.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Proven experience drafting written discovery and maintaining detailed case records.
- Ability to manage a large volume of case materials in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Desired Skills:
- Paralegal certification
- Insurance defense litigation experience.
- Experience with toxic tort or asbestos matters.
- Familiarity with legal research tools and case management software.
- Experience summarizing medical records and medical chronologies.
