A Paraprofessional plays a crucial role in supporting students' educational experiences by collaborating closely with teachers and school staff. This position requires adaptability, patience, and a passion for helping students reach their full potential. By providing individualized attention and assistance, Paraprofessionals help ensure a supportive and productive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the planning and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to reinforce lesson plans.
Monitor student progress and report findings to teachers.
Support classroom management by assisting with student behavior and needs.
Help prepare instructional materials and classroom resources.
Salary: As per the agreement between the South Plainfield Board of Education and the South Plainfield Aides' Unit
Other Requirements:
Must have at least 60 college credits or have passed the New Jersey Para Professional Test
Previous experience working in an educational or childcare setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to assist students with special needs or learning disabilities.
Collaborative team player with teachers and staff.
Patience and sensitivity to student needs.
Basic understanding of student assessment and teaching strategies.
