Paraprofessional - Full & Part Time

A Paraprofessional plays a crucial role in supporting students' educational experiences by collaborating closely with teachers and school staff. This position requires adaptability, patience, and a passion for helping students reach their full potential. By providing individualized attention and assistance, Paraprofessionals help ensure a supportive and productive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to reinforce lesson plans.
• Monitor student progress and report findings to teachers.
• Support classroom management by assisting with student behavior and needs.
• Help prepare instructional materials and classroom resources.

Salary: As per the agreement between the South Plainfield Board of Education and the South Plainfield Aides' Unit

Other Requirements:

• Must have at least 60 college credits or have passed the New Jersey Para Professional Test
• Previous experience working in an educational or childcare setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assist students with special needs or learning disabilities.
• Collaborative team player with teachers and staff.
• Patience and sensitivity to student needs.
• Basic understanding of student assessment and teaching strategies.
