Under the supervision of a site administrator with direction from the credentialed staff member and/or site administrator, the paraprofessional II science lab aide co-leads and/or assists classroom teachers with the preparation, presentation, and cleanup of science experiments, and maintains and stores science equipment and supplies.

Qualifications: 1. Previous Experience: Experience working with students or youth groups. Experience in working in a science lab environment. 2. Education: Equivalent to AA degree or higher and/or experience in the area of science. PREFERRED: Some college-level coursework in laboratory science and a keen interest in science. 3. Training: First aid and CPR certifications are desirable. Work Calendar: Position is 18.75 hours per week (equivalent to 3.75 hours per day), Monday through Friday, with work hours falling between 7:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. Exact work hours will be determined by incumbent and supervisor. This position is considered to be a 0.4688 FTE position (46.88% of a full-time position). The work calendar spans the school year, which is August 13, 2026 to June 3, 2027. Wednesday, August 12, 2026 is a required professional development day, which may have different attendance times than the regular work schedule. A six-month probationary period must be successfully completed before a new classified employee becomes permanent with the District. Current employees must pass a six-month probationary period in a new position when the new position is a permanent assignment in a higher classification. Salary: Placement on the classified salary range 23 is dependent on experience as a paraprofessional/teacher's aide.
