Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Transportation Shift Manager and Transportation Supervisor the incumbent is responsible for the cleanliness, upkeep and maintenance of the valet and self- parking lots and garages including the man lift areas, stairways, parking gates, kiosks, signs, traffic cones and mirrors. All mechanical equipment malfunctions and worn traffic control identifications associated with all parking areas and traffic patterns interior and exterior shall be reported to management. High school diploma or GED as well as one (1) year of related experience. Must possess valid driver's license, provide a state DMV driving history report, operate company vehicles and possess basic mechanical skills along with learning how to operate a tow truck. Position requires ability to routinely walk, frequently reach, bend and squat. Must possess ability to climb ladders and stairs and handle weights of up to 80 pounds. Must possess acceptable vision, hearing and dexterity to safely operate vehicles and attend/pass required safety classes. Position requires ability to work outdoors in both hot and cold weather. The incumbent directs movement of vehicular traffic at entrances, intersections and through construction sites.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Must adhere to Mashantucket Pequot Tribe's Policies and Procedures.
- The primary responsibility is to ensure our extraordinary Guest service standards are maintained at all times. In joining our team, you commit to supporting this mission by demonstrating our 5 Star Service standards at all times.
- Maintains safety and attractiveness of MPGE properties. Maintains valet and self-parking equipment. Maintains all traffic equipment in working condition and cleanliness.
- Performs routine service, maintenance and minor repairs on MPGE department equipment.
- Schedules major repair appointments and transports vehicles to appropriate repair facility.
- Tows and relocates improperly parked and abandoned vehicles on site.
- Provides customer/employee vehicle assistance as unlocking doors and changing flats as requested.
- Directs movement of traffic using signs and hand signals.
- Distributes traffic control signs and equipment throughout property as needed to assist with traffic flow during construction, motor vehicle accidents or any type of emergency situations that require traffic redirection.
- Monitors the garages and patron parking lots when parking volume is heavy and peaking.
- Assists management with closing of parking facilities when business demands and or weather conditions are severe.
- Meets Camper/RV guests and issue permits and monitors length of stay.
- Assures Camper/RV guests are abiding by Policy and Procedures for parking area.
- Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.
- Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED as well as one (1) year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Qualifications

- Must possess valid driver's license and operate company vehicles.
- Must provide a state DMV driving history report upon hire and once a year after and meet department management's requirements.

Additional Requirements
- Must possess the ability to perform basic mechanical skills and trouble shoot.
- Position requires ability to learn the operation of a company tow truck.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk and reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
- Must possess ability to climb ladders and stairs and handle weights of up to 50 pounds for assisting with the moving of luggage, wheelchairs and motorized equipment, etc., into and out of vehicles Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Position requires extended periods of standing and ability to frequently get in and out of vehicles.
- Must be in good physical condition with no medical limitations that will not permit the employee to fulfill the physical demands of the position.
- Must possess acceptable vision, hearing and dexterity to safely operate vehicles.
