Job Summary

South Georgia State Colleges School of Business and Professional Studies (SBPS) is seeking applications for part-time faculty to teach in the Associate of Science in Agriculture discipline on the Waycross Campus. Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate success in some or all these areas: service to the College, academic achievement, professional growth and development, and course assessment. Teaching assignments may be assigned to any day, evenings, weekends, or on-line.

Responsibilities

Scheduled Class Time(s) -

Meet in-person on the Waycross Campus for each class as scheduled at the designated time and place and for the designated length of time.

Course Syllabus -

At the beginning of each course, provide each student with a syllabus per the guidelines in the faculty handbook.

Teaching Pedagogy -

Stay current in the teaching discipline(s) and the pedagogy of that discipline.

Banner Administrative Duites -

Submit correct proof rosters and grades in Banner by the assigned deadlines. Record daily attendance according to institutional policy.

Maintain adequate records of student progress (using required program documentation) including posting mid-term grades in Banner.

Assessment Data -

Submit assessment data to the Dean of the SBPS at the end of each semester by the required deadline.

Office Hours -

Be available to meet with students outside of class.

Meetings -

Be available for part-time faculty/supervision meetings.

Travel -

May require travel to all SGSC campuses and sites.

Other Duties -

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

The completion of a Masters Degree plus 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline of Agriculture, Agriculture Education, Soil Science, Animal Husbandry, Farm Organization, General Horticulture, etc.

Other Required Qualifications

Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential.

Technology skills and good interpersonal skills are required.
