Part Time, Children''s Learning Center Teacher

Reporting to the Children''s Learning Center Manager, the lead classroom teacher will provide care and educational opportunities for children enrolled in the program.

Typical functions required of the classroom teacher:

• To devise and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that align with the overall program mission and with relevant educational standards
• To prepare materials to support planned activities
• To maintain a guidance plan by utilizing proactive strategies, while encouraging positive social behavior
• To maintain and support a safe learning environment
• To assist with the inventory and proper utilization of supplies and consumables
• To establish and maintain home/school connections
• To utilize and model active listening skills
• To communicate effectively with the children, families, co-workers, and LCCC''s faculty/staff
• To be a role model for adult learners assigned to the classroom
• To assist the Children''s Learning Center administrators to meet all regulations and program needs

Required Qualifications:

• Associate''s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; OCCRRA CPL Level 4
• Willingness to complete required in-service trainings
• Must meet all required DCY childcare staff member licensing regulations, including extensive background check
• Minimum of 1 year toddler teaching experience
• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work with young children and families

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current approved training in CPR/First Aid, Management of Communicable Disease, and Child Abuse Recognition
• 3 years teaching experience
• Current State of Ohio Associate Teaching License or eligibility for licensure
• Familiarity with Conscious Discipline and the Ohio Early Learning Assessment
