Position Overview
The Part-Time Continuing Education Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor for Continuing Education is responsible for teaching non-credit CNA courses with a prescribed curriculum to individuals pursuing the CNA Industry Certification examnter the job summary from the job description.
What you will be doing
- Instructs students in both theory and practice of CNA theory and clinical components
- Ensures course objectives and outcomes are accomplished and students receive passing grades on theoretical examinations
- Provides direct supervision and student evaluation in the classroom and in clinical experiences
- Maintains accurate attendance records
- Develops teaching and learning strategies that optimize student performance
- Participates in curriculum, technology and textbook committees
- Complies with department and College policies and procedures
- Participates in the planning of each learning experience
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
- Minimum of one (1) year or more of clinical experience and completed a course on teaching adult learners; or minimum of one (1) year or more of clinical experience and at least one (1) year of experience in teaching adult learners; or minimum of one (1) year or more of clinical experience and one (1) year of experience supervising nursing assistants
- Active and clear Florida license to practice either practical nursing or professional nursing
- Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, policies and procedures and programs
- Knowledge of teaching adult learners
- Knowledge of CNA theory
- Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills
- Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
