Part Time Event Officer

BOS Security is now reviewing resumes for an event security officer position for the Atlanta area. Shifts would be working events at the Fernbank Science Center, with most events happening after 5PM both during the week and on the weekend.SCHEDULE: Monthly/bimonthly events at Fernbank, after 5PM, shifts would be 4-8 hours longANY DAY DURING THE WEEK INCLUDING WEEKENDS.RESPONSIBILITES:Trained and qualified to work assigned post. Understands the specific and general post instructions for that assigned post. Has practical knowledge of all additional and emergency post instructions that are called for by the clientPatrolling event on foot during entirety of shiftMaintain a visible presence throughout duration of eventPatrols buildings and grounds on footWorking crowd control and maintaining order during large eventsExamines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secureWarns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehends or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal actsInspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurredWatches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlockedObserves departing personnel to guard against theft of client propertyPermits authorized persons to enter propertyOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:Security, law enforcement, military, or other related experience and/or training preferredStable work historyThe ability to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and a background check; This position is subject to random drug testingMUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:Smartphone, a valid driver's license and your own, working transportation-no drop offs/public transportation, be able to travel 50 miles one way to work and a clean driving historyYou must pass a pre-employment drug screening test and a background check.
