Job Title: Kitchen Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Food Service Director Days per Year: 180

Job Location: Highland Elementary School Hours per Day: 5.75

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides excellent customer service to all students, staff, parents, and visitors with a positive and professional attitude
  • Follows menu instructions and portion sizes, and adjusts based on student count
  • Adheres to all Health Department guidelines to ensure food safety
  • Participates and maintains cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Assists in recording and maintaining temperature logs for food equipment and production
  • Ensures food safety measures are being observed and taken by all food service staff
  • Day-to-day management of food service staff in the Elementary School Cafeteria
  • Maintains appropriate communication with the Food Services Director about potential issues

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Food Safety Manager Certificate from the Health Department is required within 90 days of hire
  • Previous Supervisory experience in a food service environment is preferred, but not required

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $18.75-$20.25 per hour depending on supervisory and food safety experience. For part-time staff, the district provides a PERA retirement plan, long-term disability, an optional supplemental 401(k) plan, an employee assistance plan, and the ability to enroll in supplemental insurances and savings accounts through a third-party vendor. Weld RE-9 offers sick leave and personal leave as well as other benefits specific to our school district. Finally, the Weld Re-9 school district offers a tuition reimbursement program, reimbursement for obtaining a substitute license, as well as pathways to teacher licensure for interested staff. Weld RE-9 offers sick leave and personal leave and the option to be paid over 9 or 12 months.
