Georgia Fugees Academy Charter School (GFACS) is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in grades 6–12 from refugee, immigrant, and multilingual backgrounds. Our mission is to level the playing field for refugee and immigrant students and their families by empowering them to become independent thinkers, high-achieving scholars, and productive citizens.
Soccer is central to the history and educational model of GFACS. We believe it can create community, strengthen relationships, develop confidence, and support students’ social-emotional and academic growth. Our culture is student-centered, inclusive, collaborative, and grounded in high expectations and loving accountability. We value professionals who build authentic relationships, respect the cultural and linguistic identities of our students, take individual and collective responsibility, and continually seek opportunities to grow.
GFACS is seeking a committed and student-centered Part-Time Head Soccer Coach to lead our soccer fundamentals program and help build the foundation for its future growth.
During the 2026–27 school year, the program will focus on skill development, conditioning, teamwork, sportsmanship, safe play, and student accountability. GFACS will not participate in games, scrimmages, tournaments, or team travel during this initial year. Competitive play is anticipated for the 2027–28 school year, at which time the role may expand to include games, tournaments, evening or weekend activities, and approved travel.
This is an excellent opportunity for a coach who enjoys developing young athletes, building programs, and using soccer to create belonging, confidence, leadership, and community.
Soccer instruction is currently expected to occur from approximately 2:40 p.m.–4:00 p.m., with assigned school-support responsibilities occurring during the earlier portion of the scheduled workday.
The Head Coach must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Responsibilities regularly require standing and walking for extended periods, demonstrating soccer movements, moving across grass, turf, gym floors, and uneven outdoor surfaces, projecting the voice, observing student activity at a distance, and responding promptly to emergencies. The position also requires the ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 30 pounds and to work indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions.
At GFACS, employees are valued as professionals and encouraged to bring their strengths, ideas, and experiences to their work. You will join a mission-driven school community where soccer is more than an extracurricular activity—it is a tool for connection, belonging, character development, and student success.
If you are passionate about soccer, committed to supporting young people, and excited by the opportunity to build a strong program from the ground up, we encourage you to apply.
To apply, please submit your resume and a brief statement describing your soccer, coaching, and youth-development experience through this posting.
Georgia Fugees Academy Charter School is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment decisions are based on qualifications, merit, and the needs of GFACS. We are committed to creating an inclusive working and learning environment where employees and students are valued, respected, and supported.
