What You'll Do:

Provides part-time operational support for Police Department IT functions, with a focus on equipment lifecycle tasks, inventory accuracy, imaging, deployments, and routine support follow-up. This role enhances throughout, for day-to-day operations, enabling full-time technical staff to focus on higher-priority projects, escalations, and complex troubleshooting.

Essential Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update IT asset tracking and assignment records
  • Image and configure new and redeployed devices using standard procedures
  • Prepare equipment for deployment, including accessories, labeling, and readiness verification
  • Support workstation setups and office moves (disconnect, reconnect, testing)
  • Assist with vehicle equipment assignment tracking and documentation
  • Perform routine ticket follow-up, status updates, and documentation maintenance
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders for scheduling pickups, drop offs, swaps, and deployments

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of Windows PCs and common peripherals
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail (inventory tracking and documentation)
  • Ability to follow standard build and deployment processes consistently
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift and move standard IT equipment (monitors, desktops, docking stations) as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior IT support or help desk experience
  • Familiarity with imaging processes and basic troubleshooting
  • Experience with inventory systems or asset management practices
The work location of this job will be 1730 Westchester Dr High Point, North Carolina.
