Do you love yarn, color, and helping people bring their creative ideas to life? Makers’ Mercantile is looking for a warm, knowledgeable, and dependable Part-Time Sales Associate to join our team.
This is an in-person retail position, and weekend availability is required.
The Role
You’ll help create a welcoming, inspiring experience for our customers while supporting the day-to-day operations of the shop. Responsibilities include:
- Helping customers select yarn, patterns, tools, and project materials
- Providing knowledgeable support with knitting and crochet
- Processing in-store, phone, and online orders
- Packing and shipping online orders
- Receiving and organizing inventory
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting shop
What We’re Looking For
- Retail experience and familiarity with POS systems and inventory
- Proficiency in both knitting and crochet
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and stay positive in a busy retail environment
- Comfort using Ravelry, Google, email, and other basic technology
- Ability to stand throughout a shift, climb stairs/ladders, and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
Extra Credit
Experience with other fiber arts, teaching knitting or crochet, speaking a second language, or a strong eye for color and design are all welcome.
