    About Us

    Albany State University is a fully accredited senior unit of the University System of Georgia.     Location

    Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 209.

    Job Summary

    We are seeking qualified part-time faculty to teach in our synchronous, online Master of Social Work (MSW) program. Teaching assignments may include courses in direct clinical practice, social work theory, and research, based on the candidate¿s academic preparation and professional experience.

    Part-time faculty are expected to contribute to the educational, professional, and ethical development of graduate social work students, participate in curriculum enhancement, and engage in professional advising and mentoring as appropriate.

    Responsibilities

    • Teach assigned graduate-level social work courses in a synchronous online MSW program.

    • Utilize the learning management system (LMS) to organize classes, facilitate synchronous instruction, assess student learning, maintain accurate grades, and provide timely, constructive feedback.

    • Foster students¿ academic, professional, and ethical development through advising, mentoring, and timely communication.

    • Deliver instruction that aligns with CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS 2022), including competency-based education and assessment.

    • Maintain regular communication with students and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

    • Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based social work practice and emerging trends in the profession.

    Required Qualifications

    • Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a CSWE-accredited program.
    • Minimum of five years of post-graduate clinical social work practice experience.
    • Current licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) (or equivalent).
    • Minimum of two years of teaching experience in higher education.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Ph.D. or DSW in Social Work.
    • Knowledge of CSWE accreditation standards, including competency-based. education and assessment.
    • Online teaching experience.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to deliver graduate-level social work education in a synchronous, online format, including effective use of a learning management system (LMS) to organize course content, facilitate learning activities, and assess student performance.
    • Ability to develop and implement innovative, high-impact teaching strategies that promote student engagement, critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and professional competence.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills to engage diverse learners, foster a supportive and inclusive virtual classroom environment, and communicate clearly and professionally with students, faculty, and program leadership.
    • Ability to integrate clinical practice experience, social work theory, and research into course delivery in alignment with CSWE accreditation standards and competency-based education.
    • Ability to adapt instruction based on student feedback, learning outcomes, and program needs, and to contribute to curriculum enhancement and continuous program improvement.
