Job Description

Start Date: November 2026 – January 2027

Location: Fort Washington, MD
Compensation: $22–$25/hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday (split shift), 7:00 AM–10:00 AM and 4:00 PM–8:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 28 hours/week

Overview:
A warm, busy family in Fort Washington, MD is looking for a dependable, proactive nanny for a long-term, live-out split-shift position (minimum one-year commitment). The family has three children: a 9-year-old, a 4-year-old, and an infant. Mornings are about breakfast, cleanup, and getting everyone ready for the day. Evenings are about dinner help, homework, bath time, and winding down for bed. The family values structure, routine, and active play over screen time, and homework always comes first. The right candidate is flexible, energetic, takes initiative, and uses good judgment about what needs tidying or organizing without being asked. Hours may vary during summer and holidays, but this is a year-round role. As trust builds, there may be chances to drive the children and to join occasional family trips, with travel and lodging covered.

Benefits: 7 paid sick/personal days per year, travel and lodging covered on family trips

Responsibilities:

  • Help prepare breakfast, clean up afterward, and get the children ready for the day
  • Help with dinner and evening routines
  • Help with homework and keep entertainment off during schoolwork
  • Run bath time and bedtime wind-down for the two older children
  • Plan active, screen-free play and activities
  • Encourage the children to pick up after themselves, and keep shared spaces tidy
  • Spot-clean and take initiative on obvious messes around the home
  • Over time, possibly drive the children to and from school or a relative’s home in your own vehicle

Requirements:

  • Professional nanny experience, including infant care
  • Experience caring for several children of different ages at once
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, completed before the start date
  • Available Monday–Thursday mornings and evenings on a long-term basis (minimum one year)
  • Flexible as hours shift during summers and holidays
  • Comfortable in a shared-care home where family members come and go
  • Clear communication skills in English (bilingual a plus)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle preferred, not required at start
  • Comfortable in the water with children a plus
  • Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references
