Partner Attorney - Estate Litigation

CBIZ is seeking a Senior Attorney or Partner for its multi-location Long Island client. This role requires a portable book of business and 10+ years of experience in trusts and estates, with a strong focus on estate litigation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned attorney with extensive Surrogate’s Court experience who can independently manage a high-volume caseload while delivering high-quality client service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage estate litigation matters including probate petitions, 1404 hearings, depositions, accountings, kinship proceedings, and court appearances
• Develop and execute litigation and settlement strategies (strong SCPA knowledge required)
• Conduct client meetings, witness preparation, and trial preparation
• Perform legal research and stay current on trusts and estates developments
• Maintain organized case files and documentation
• Oversee and collaborate with attorneys and support staff
• Contribute to business development and client growth initiatives

Qualifications

• JD and admission to the New York State Bar (in good standing)
• 10+ years of trusts and estates experience, including high-net-worth and succession planning
• Proven estate litigation experience required
• Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload and meet deadlines

Compensation: Competitive base ($200k range) plus incentives tied to portable business
