As part of a collaborative team, the Partnerships and Events Manager reports to the Deputy Managing Director Director of Communications while working directly with external sponsors, internal stakeholders, and event staff to understand customer needs, shape compelling partnership opportunities, and ensure flawless fulfillment across both new and existing programs./ppKey Responsibilities/pulliPartnership Development Sales (Primary Focus)/liulliResearch, identify, and cultivate prospective sponsors and partners across industry, academia, and government./liliDevelop and manage a pipeline of sponsorship opportunities for conferences, webinars, workshops, and special initiatives./liliProduce compelling presentations and collateral material to attract potential customers./liliConduct outreach, discovery calls, presentations, and negotiations to secure sponsorship commitments./liliCraft customized partnership packages aligned with sponsor objectives and IEEE-USA program goals./liliMaintain strong relationships with existing sponsors to drive renewals and upsell opportunities./liliPossess excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service/problem solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and on multiple projects simultaneously./li/ulliSponsor Fulfillment Account Management/liulliServe as the primary point of contact for sponsor onboarding, communications, and deliverables./liliEnsure accurate and timely execution of sponsor benefits such as branding, speaking opportunities, exhibit presence, lead-generation tools, digital recognition, or other entitlements./liliWork cross-functionally with marketing, event operations, and program teams to coordinate and track fulfillment./liliMonitor partnership performance and provide post-event reporting to sponsors./li/ulliEvent Support Program Collaboration/liulliSupport event logistics for sponsored activities, including coordination of speakers, exhibitor needs, onsite brand placement, and VIP engagements./liliCollaborate with internal teams to integrate sponsors into existing events and programs./liliParticipate in post-event debriefs to evaluate sponsorship value and identify future improvements./li/ulliReporting Analytics/liulliMaintain accurate sponsorship pipelines in the CRM and update opportunity stages, notes, and key activity history./liliProduce regular sales reports, including forecasts, revenue pacing, and pipeline health assessments./liliTrack sales performance against targets and identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement./liliProvide internal stakeholders with visibility into upcoming sponsor commitments, deliverable deadlines, and financial projections./liliDevelop standardized reporting dashboards or summaries to support strategic planning and leadership decision-making./li/ulliStrategy, Planning Administration/liulliContribute to annual revenue planning, forecasting, and goal setting for partnership programs./liliHelp evolve IEEE-USAs sponsorship assets, pricing, sales collateral, and value propositions./liliTrack sales activity (pipeline and forecasts), sponsor data, and fulfillment using CRM and project management tools./liliStay informed on industry trends in events, association partnerships, and sponsor expectations./li/ulliCommunications Marketing/liulliDemonstrate strong communications skills and ability to create/edit copy and deliver strong presentations./liliCreate/edit graphics, collateral material or videos to be used in presentations or across social media platforms aligning with event branding using Canva, Photoshop, Cap Cut or Premiere./liliWork with team to deploy campaigns and monitor results to support event and marketing efforts./liliExperience creating, editing and maintaining web and social media content and basic content management skill via WordPress a plus./liliManage relationships with IEEE Volunteers and assist with Committee work./liliHelp drive innovation and creative discovery that in turn leads to increases of members, revenue or both./li/ulliTravel Information/liulli25% Domestic - Travel for IEEE-USA events, meetings, and sponsor engagements./liliEvening or weekend hours may occasionally be required./li/ul/ulpQualifications/pulliEducation/liulliBachelors degree or equivalent experience Bachelors degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience./li/ulliWork Experience/liulli2-4 years - Experience in sales, partnerships, business development, or event management with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal./lili2-4 years - Proven success in selling intangibles/services, with strong relationship-building and negotiation skills./liliAbility to understand customer needs and translate them into actionable opportunities./liliStrong project management and organizational skills; comfortable managing multiple priorities./liliExperience working with cross-functional teams; ability to be resourceful and hands-on when needed./lili2-4 years - Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management Software (CRM) and basic event management platforms is a plus./liliLess than 2 years - Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS - WordPress) and basic graphic editing/design (e.g Canva, Photoshop, Cap Cut) is a plus./li/ulliSkills and Requirements/liulli4-7 years of experience in sales, partnerships, business development, or event management, with proven success in selling intangibles/services, with strong relationship-building and negotiation skills./liliStrong project management and organizational skills;
