Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Operating a company-owned passenger vehicles to transport parts and supplies to and from suppliers and various Dean Operation sites located throughout Michigan.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Meet all general qualifications for employment.
- Meet State and/or Federal physical examination requirements.
- Pass drug and alcohol screening as established by Company, State and Federal requirements.
- Meet Company, State, and School District standards (where applicable) for criminal history check.
- Possess a valid Michigan Operator License.
- Pass driving record check and maintain a good driving record.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operates company-owned delivery van or automobile.
- Loads and unloads vehicle with parts and supplies.
- Provides excellent communication and customer service with internal and external customers.
- Completes pre-trip inspection, operates the vehicle safely and follows all state of Michigan laws.
- Responsible for maintaining, cleanliness, appearance of delivery van or automobile, and the safe operation of vehicles on a daily and weekly basis.
- Works with Fleet Parts Department in preparation for deliveries, returns, and processing of core parts.
- Uses computer and cell phone with proficiency to communicate with Dean staff and suppliers.
- Assists with housekeeping in Fleet Parts Department.
- Assists in inventory requirements as applicable statewide.
- Follows all Fleet Standard Operating Procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to physically perform duties and utilize the following equipment with or without accommodation: forklift, pallet jack, hand cart.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, move or carry heavy objects or materials as needed for loading and unloading of vehicle.
- Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 35 to 50 pounds of force frequently. Must be able to lift and/or carry weight of 50 to 100 pounds.
