UARU FPSO Project Coatings & Fire Protection
Experienced FPSO professionals are needed in high-temperature and humidity environment (90 degrees F+).
We are looking for Passive Fire Protection (PFP) Applicators with three to five years of hands-on experience in PFP Chartek coating application.
Qualifications required and preferred:
- AMPP (NACE/SSPC) or ICORR Coating Applicator Certification (Epoxy) Level 2 or FIRAS Third-Party PFP Installer Certification.
- Level 1 Certification is the minimum requirement.
- OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification.
- Knowledge of SSPC/NACE/ISO 8501 surface preparation standards.
- Familiarity with UL 1709 (hydrocarbon fire) and jet fire and rise fire testing of protection materials for structural steel.
- Candidates must be able to read and interpret technical data sheets, PFP certificates, and engineering drawings in English. Understanding of EICS (Ethyl Inorganic Zinc Silicate Coating System) chemical behavior, precise application limits, and failure points is essential, along with knowledge of Chartek epoxy intumescent coating systems.
- Experience with two-component systems, induction & pot life, intumescent reaction to fire, dry film thickness & inspection gauges, carbon fiber or fiberglass reinforcement mesh, multi-coat adhesion, heavy coating surface profiles, dew point rules, and extreme hydrocarbon pool fires, jet fires & cellulosic fires is required.
- Must have worked with Chartek 7, Chartek ONE, or Chartek 2218 products.
- Candidates must be willing to work in confined spaces, on elevated structures, and in areas that require full PPE.
