Our specialized pastry cooks work closely with our executive chefs and pastry chefs to create desserts and baked goods that enhance our menu and engage our customers.
- Pastry Cooks assemble dessert components and mignardises, and plate desserts during service.
- Pastry Cooks bake products according to recipe standards.
- Pastry Cooks complete cleaning tasks at the end of the shift.
Required skills and qualifications to be a Pastry Cook with Casbah:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience with at least six months working in a restaurant kitchen in a role involving accurately executing recipes under the direction of a chef or kitchen manager
- Excellent attention to detail and passion for food and pastry work
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively with others
- Able to follow a written recipe
- Basic knife skills for chopping, slicing, dicing, etc.
Preferred skills and qualifications to be a Pastry Cook with Casbah:
- Pastry technique, chocolate work, and bread baking experience
- Fine-dining experience
Physical requirements for Pastry Cook with Casbah:
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)
- Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds
- Able to work in an environment that is frequently hot, humid, and loud
