Position Summary

CellNetix Pathology & Laboratories is seeking an AP/CP Surgical Pathologist to join our growing physician team in the Puget Sound region.

The ideal candidate will possess strong general Anatomic and Clinical Pathology skills, with particular interest and/or expertise in General Surgical, Breast, Gynecologic, and/or Dermatopathology. Fellowship training is highly desirable.

This position offers an opportunity to practice in a collaborative, physician-led environment with a diverse and intellectually engaging case mix. Our pathologists bring a broad range of subspecialty expertise, making collaboration and consultation an integral part of daily practice.

Both experienced pathologists and recent fellowship graduates are encouraged to apply. New graduates with strong subspecialty fellowship training will have the opportunity to learn and grow alongside an experienced and supportive team.

Practice Locations

Current opportunities are available in Everett and Seattle, with additional practice opportunities throughout Washington State, including Kirkland, Tacoma, Olympia, and Spokane, as well as opportunities in Alaska and Arizona.

Practice location and responsibilities will be determined based on the needs of the organization and the candidate's qualifications, interests, and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

The Surgical Pathologist will:

• Provide accurate, timely, and high-quality diagnostic Anatomic and Clinical Pathology services
• Perform independent evaluation and interpretation of surgical pathology specimens
• Participate in subspecialty sign-out consistent with training and expertise
• Collaborate with other pathologists on complex and challenging cases
• Communicate effectively with clinicians, surgeons, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in multidisciplinary conferences and clinical consultations as appropriate
• Maintain appropriate documentation and compliance with regulatory and professional standards
• Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives
• Support strong relationships with hospital and clinical partners
• Contribute to the continued development and advancement of CellNetix pathology services
• Participate in medical directorship, committee, educational, or other leadership responsibilities as appropriate to the position and physician's interests

Qualifications

Required

• Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or equivalent degree
• Completion of an accredited Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency program
• Board certification or board eligibility in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP)
• Completion of an accredited fellowship program preferred
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the state(s) in which the physician will practice
• Ability to meet applicable hospital credentialing requirements
• Strong diagnostic, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to excellence in patient care and clinical service

Preferred

• Fellowship training in General Surgical, Breast, Gynecologic, Dermatopathology, or another relevant subspecialty
• Two or more years of post-training experience
• Hospital-based pathology experience
• Medical directorship or other physician leadership experience
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
• Interest in quality improvement, laboratory operations, education, or physician leadership

Recent fellowship graduates with strong subspecialty training are encouraged to apply.

Licensure & Certification

The physician must meet all applicable licensure, certification, credentialing, and privileging requirements for the practice location.

Depending on assigned practice responsibilities, this may include eligibility for medical licensure in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, and/or Alaska.

Additional hospital-specific credentialing requirements may apply.

Physical Requirements

The essential functions of this position may require the ability to:

• Sit for prolonged periods while performing diagnostic and administrative duties.
• Perform extensive computer-based work.
• Perform significant periods of diagnostic work through visual inspection using a microscope.
• Fully utilize a microscope through sustained use of the hands and eyes.
• Stand at a worktable for extended periods, including up to approximately two hours during autopsy procedures when applicable.
• Perform other physical activities reasonably required to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
