Patient Account Booth Representative

Responsible for the complete and accurate registration of all patients and updating of all patient accounts. Collects information, validates documents, and maintains records. Responsible for determining who will pay for the patient visit and collect all patient payments including but not limited co-payments, deductible amounts, and past due balance. This is a part-time position, Saturdays, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at our WCHC Mount Vernon location.
Essential Duties:
Completes new patient registration by entering demographic data into the Practice Management System (PMS).
Completes insurance verification of patient insurance and enters the information on the patient account.
Scans supporting documents to patient account.
Advise patients with no insurance on how to apply.
Update patient demographic information, as necessary.
Enters new insurance information for patients into the PMS.
Updates patients accounts with name changes.
Updates patient sliding fee.
Explains to patients the sliding fee schedule and details about co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and non-covered services.
Observes the waiting room to ensure patients are not waiting for extended times.
Completes patient payment arrangements for current and outstanding balances.
Collects patient payments.
Arrives/check-ins patients into the PMS.
Performs other related clerical tasks to ensure effective operation of the assigned area.
Provides coverage as needed for other areas within the department.
Performs other tasks, duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
Working knowledge and experience of entering data into computer systems.
At least six months to one year of related healthcare and health insurance experience.
Experience providing customer or client services.
Strong communication skills including experience in writing, answering phone calls, and speaking.
Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time and make quick decisions.
Experience working with patients.
Graduation from a standard high school or General Equivalent Diploma.
BIlingual in English and Spanish
