The Patient Care Technician Trainee is a temporary entry-level position. The position exists to provide incumbents training to achieve educational knowledge and a defined skillset and ultimately obtain an internal certification or State of Michigan registry document as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The Patient Care Technician Trainee will receive education through internal training or CNA program to provide basic nursing care, communicate with patients, family members, and others on the healthcare team, and obtain the skills necessary to provide, and assist with, patient activities of daily living. |
Responsibilities:
(100%) * Satisfactorily complete the Patient Care Technician training program OR complete Davenport University Certified Nursing Assistant Program and pass certification test ultimately achieving State of Michigan registry document as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) within 30 days of Davenport program completion.
Satisfactory completion will be achieved by:
Attending class every day for the entire scheduled time Demonstrating competency of skills learned during class Achieving a score of 84% on all quizzes and tests or pass certification test achieving State of Michigan registry as a CNA. Displaying the values of MyMichigan Health in all interactions with instructors, patients, family members and other members of the health care team.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS: Computer experience required. Good organizational skills, a team player and ability to work under high pressure and time constraints are all required.
Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
