• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 3 months
• Pay Rate: $28.00 $32.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Day shift, 3x12 Hours shift start time is 7:00 AM with flexibility to start four hours prior to or after posted start time based on limited critical department need; 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Travel Requirements: Accepts first timers
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is an ER Surge/Overflow position. The Patient Care Technician will be stationed in the ED caring for overflow/surge patients, floating to different areas within the ED as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to overflow/surge patients in the Emergency Department
• Float to different areas within the ED to care for overflow/surge patients based on departmental need
• Apply restraints as required; must have training with restraints
• Work within an Epic charting environment
• Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements (every other weekend/every other holiday)

Required Skills

• Experience working as a PCT (Patient Care Technician) or CNA with a Massachusetts license in-hand
• Experience with restraints training
• Ability to work every other weekend and every other holiday (EOW/EOH)
• Proficiency with Epic charting system

Preferred Skills

• Experience with violent and non-violent patient behavior

Education Requirements

• Must have experience working as a PCT; facility will also accept a CNA with a MA license in-hand
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Massachusetts (MA) state credential/license required (CNA pathway)

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a PCT required

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Emergency Department / ER Surge setting high-acuity, fast-paced clinical environment
• Floating required to different areas within the ED to care for overflow/surge patients
• Must be available for every other weekend and every other holiday (EOW/EOH)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed)

Important Notes

• Must be able to start on the posted start date. No other start dates are being considered at this time.
• Facility allows 1 of the 3 major upcoming holidays in RTO.
