Patient Service Representative - Ambulatory Surgery

Responsibilities:

The Patient Service Representative is responsible for:

• Interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits
• Schedules patients in their clinic and assists with scheduling them in others
• Verifies insurance coverage, collects co-pays and prior balances from patients, reconciles and prepares deposits, and troubleshoots billing issues
• Greets and checks in patients
• Handles all incoming phone calls and routes to appropriate staff or initiates messages
• Coordinates clinic business processes such as supply ordering, sales calls, record release, fax and mail processing.

Other responsibilities include

• Operate a computer to accurately input and retrieve data
• communicate with the population served, staff, and providers utilizing age specific techniques.
• Maintain proficiency in medical terminology
• Project a positive and helpful with all

Qualifications:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Previous experience in a medical setting, preferred.
2. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
3. High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
4. Customer Service experience preferred.
