Payment Processor II

What We NeedCorpay is currently looking to hire a Payment Processor II within our Paymerang division. This position falls under our Corporate Payments line of business and is located in Richmond, VA. In this role, you will manage payments that require follow-up, ensuring timely and accurate resolution. You will also handle escalated or complex payment issues, provide feedback for process improvements, and assist in training new members of the Payments team. You will report directly to the Operations Manager and regularly collaborate with Operations teams, including Enrollment, Client Success, and Payment Processing.How We WorkAs a Payment Processor II, Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

Role ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of the role will include:

Contacting vendors by phone and email to resolve outstanding payments not completed on the first attemptManaging escalated payment issues such as misapplied payments or difficult-to-complete transactionsCommunicating with clients as needed to resolve unsettled paymentsUsing sound judgment to determine when to cancel, reissue, or refund a paymentReconciling payments prior to reissuing or refundingCollaborating across Operations teams to improve workflow and communicationIdentifying payment processing trends to mitigate risk, improve efficiency, and provide recommendations to managementAnswering inbound calls in the Payments queueSupporting "first-touch" payment processing when neededConducting side-by-side training sessions with new hiresParticipating in special projects such as vendor research, payment instruction creation, or proactive enrollment effortsPerforming other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum of 2-4 years of successful experience in payment processingStrong time management skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesProven ability to manage multiple priorities effectivelyProficiency in Microsoft Excel

Pay TransparencyThe expected salary range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50, based on the candidate's work location. This range reflects a good faith estimate of the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final offer will be determined based on job-related factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable market conditions. Compensation may vary based on geographic location and will be confirmed during the hiring process.
