Payroll Administrator

Carlsbad, CA | Hybrid
Direct Hire | $70,000–$80,000 + Benefits

We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist who understands payroll beyond simply entering information into a payroll system.

This is a client-facing payroll position where you’ll manage payroll processing for multiple clients, review payroll data for accuracy, troubleshoot discrepancies, and work directly with clients to ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of hands-on payroll experience
• Experience processing biweekly payroll
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, calculations, deductions, compensation, and employee changes
• Ability to review payroll and identify when something doesn’t look right
• Experience researching and resolving payroll discrepancies
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Comfortable managing multiple client priorities and deadlines
• Able to learn new payroll systems and processes quickly

A Great Fit If You...

You understand payroll, not just payroll software.

You know how payroll information flows through the process, can spot potential problems, ask the right questions, and take ownership of getting issues resolved.

Payroll service bureau or multi-client payroll experience is a plus, as is experience with payroll implementation or client onboarding.

Specific industry or payroll software experience is not required — the company is willing to train the right person.
