Payroll Coordinator

In this role, you will prepare, enter, and audit records to ensure accurate and timely processing of multi-state payrolls for approximately 4,500 employees on a cyclical basis. You will facilitate the end-to-end payroll process in compliance with all federal, state, district, and local laws as well as company policies and procedures. This includes collecting required documentation, computing wages, and investigating payroll issues or discrepancies.

Responsibilities:

• Review, audit, and process timesheets and records, auditing final timesheets against weekly/biweekly payroll reports.
• Calculate and input salary adjustments, coding, timesheet corrections, and other modifications as needed.
• Set up and process biweekly and weekly payrolls.
• Process special payroll transactions such as corrections, replacements, final paychecks, and retroactive pay as appropriate.
• Set up both statutory and voluntary deductions for direct deposits, tax withholdings, certificated and classified union dues, and other assigned deductions.
• Process wage assignments, garnishments, and other withholding orders as directed by the court or taxing authorities.

Education and Experience Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of increasingly responsible payroll experience in all areas of payroll practice.
• Subject Matter Expert experience in multiple payroll processing systems.
• Current, working knowledge of payroll, tax, and labor laws and other relevant legislation.
• CPP designation preferred.
• Experience processing payroll for a workforce of approximately 4,500 employees preferred.
