Payroll Manager

We're seeking an experienced and driven Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations and guide a high-performing team of payroll professionals at our Catonsville, Maryland home office.

In this key leadership role, you will oversee end-to-end payroll administration while championing process improvements, operational efficiencies, and service excellence. The ideal candidate brings deep full cycle payroll expertise specific in a Workday platform, strong leadership skills in managing a team of payroll professionals, and a passion for delivering accurate, compliant, and employee-focused payroll solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. How you will make an impact:

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Payroll team, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing
• Train, and develop Payroll staff, providing ongoing coaching and performance management
• Oversee all payroll activities, including regular and off-cycle payments, audits, and issue resolution
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and stay current on regulatory changes
• Manage payroll reconciliations, reporting, and analysis, including ad hoc data requests
• Drive process improvements and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and standard operating documentation
• Support payroll systems, including upgrades, testing, and technical enhancements
• Collaborate cross-functionally and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners

What you will need:

• Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
• Full cycle payroll experience using Workday platform is required
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and HRIS systems
• This position is onsite in Catonsville, Maryland and requires someone to be in the office 4 days and 1 day remote.

Compensation:

• Commensurate with experience from $91,000–$100,000 per year, plus eligibility for annual bonus
• Competitive benefits packages including medical, dental, vision, and PTO in accordance with applicable state law
