WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

The Payroll Platforms Specialist is responsible for the administration, configuration, and optimization of global payroll and HR operations platforms, with a primary focus on Deel Payroll, EOR, Time Tracking, and Time Off solutions. Serving as a key liaison between Payroll, HR, Finance, HR Platforms, local country teams, and external vendors, this role ensures accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations through effective platform management, issue resolution, and process oversight. The position performs platform configurations, escalations, payroll controls, reporting, documentation, training, and operational support while driving issues to root cause and resolution. 

 

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

 

• Administer, configure, and optimize global payroll platforms, including Deel Payroll, EOR, Time Tracking, and Time Off, ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient operations.
• Serve as liaison between Payroll, HR, HR Platforms, Finance, local country teams, and payroll vendors, driving issue resolution and operational effectiveness.
• Coordinate post-implementation hyper care, support business-as-usual transitions, and administer payroll platform deployments, readiness activities, testing, training, and go-live support.
• Administer payroll platform support tickets, vendor escalations, defects, configuration changes, and operational risks, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis.
• Perform payroll readiness reviews, data validation, reconciliations, and operational control checks to support accurate employee pay and compliance requirements.
• Translate business, policy, legislative, and compliance requirements into system configurations and process enhancements; lead testing, validation, and deployment activities.
• Maintain alignment between HRIS and payroll platforms by supporting payroll data requirements, reporting, integrations, interfaces, and ongoing data quality improvements.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, process documentation, configuration records, training materials, user guides, and knowledge resources to promote standardized operations and reduce operational risk.
• Produce operational reporting and monitor key metrics, risks, exceptions, control weaknesses, and corrective actions to support continuous payroll process improvement.
• Process payroll vendor invoices, funding requests, and reconciliations while identifying opportunities to automate processes, improve controls, and enhance payroll platform performance.
• Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

Must-Haves:

 

• 3-5  Years experience working in payroll operations, payroll systems, HRIS or payroll technology within a complex or multi-country environment.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, controls, deadlines and the importance of accurate and compliant employee pay.
• Ability to operate independently within assigned areas with minimal supervision.
• Experience supporting or coordinating payroll-platform implementations, parallel testing and post-go-live hypercare.
• Hands-on experience with system configuration, testing and user acceptance validation.
• Ability to translate payroll, policy and operational requirements into technical and system requirements.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, with experience investigating system and data issues through to root cause and resolution.
• Strong organisational and project-management skills across timelines, dependencies, risks, actions and concurrent priorities.
• Experience working across HRIS and payroll-platform data and understanding downstream impacts.
• Strong stakeholder-management skills across HR, Payroll, Finance, local country teams and external vendors.
• Ability to prioritise critical payroll, compliance and employee-pay risks appropriately.
• Strong judgement, critical thinking and attention to detail, with a willingness to investigate rather than accept assumptions at face value.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort working within a changing global environment.

 

Nice-To-Haves:

 

• Experience with Deel Payroll, Deel Time Off, Deel Time Tracking and/or Deel EOR is preferred.
• Experience with UKG, Workday or another enterprise HRIS.
• Experience with Excel, Power BI or similar reporting and analytical tools.
• Experience operating in a global or matrix organisation.
• Experience with interfaces, APIs, SFTP, file feeds or other HRIS/payroll integration methods.
• Experience supporting payroll audits, controls reviews or compliance activities.

 Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
