Payroll Process Documentation Specialist

Our Client, a Food, Sports and Entertainment company, is looking for a Payroll Process Documentation Specialist for their Remote location.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with Payroll subject-matter experts to capture current processes, procedures, workflows, controls, and system interactions.
• Lead structured interviews and working sessions to extract process knowledge without requiring Payroll team members to author documentation themselves.
• Independently draft and maintain process maps, SOPs, work instructions, job aids, checklists, and supporting documentation.
• Document process owners, backups, key controls, approvals, reconciliations, handoffs, dependencies, and exception/escalation paths.
• Capture observed process gaps, inefficiencies, risks and opportunities for standardization or automation for review by Payroll leadership.
• Utilize Microsoft 365, Microsoft Copilot and process-mapping tools where appropriate to accelerate documentation development.

Requirements:

• Experience in payroll operations or business process documentation.
• Demonstrated experience developing SOPs, process maps, work instructions and/or controls documentation.
• Ability to translate complex operational knowledge into clear, user-friendly documentation.
• Strong interviewing and facilitation skills, particularly working with busy subject-matter experts.
• Strong written communication, organization and attention to detail.
• Experience with Workday is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Copilot, or similar productivity tools
