Job Description:
Summary: Responsible for processing union payroll, reports, and government taxes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinate with field management staff to collect union new hire paperwork. Ensure information is complete and accurate, following up on any issues or missing information.
- Create union employee record in ERP system, updating employment data or status changes. Ensure severance, termination, and disciplinary forms are reflected appropriately.
- Using reports, review field time entry for potential errors in hours, union, pay class, and per diem. Follow up with site teams and address as appropriate prior to payroll processing.
- Process weekly union payroll and off-cycle checks in a timely manner by importing time details and validating entries created. Confirm calculation of earnings, deductions, garnishments, union liabilities, and taxes. Ensure paychecks are distributed on time.
- Prepare monthly union remittances. Using system reports, calculate amounts and submit payment requests, ensuring reconciliation between liabilities accrued and payments. Match payments with labor details and remit to appropriate funds.
- Prepare reports, check for accuracy, and resolve discrepancies as part of business recordkeeping and compliance activities.
- Respond to and resolve inquiries related to union employee payroll.
- Submit new hire reports to state agencies.
- Process child support and other court orders as necessary.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 years of payroll experience is required; emphasis in union construction payroll is desired.
- Experience processing construction payroll preferred.
- Experience with Oracle or other large software vendors preferred.
- Must have excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to use Excel to manipulate and analyze data.
