    Physical Education (PE) TEACHER
     
     
    Job Summary:
    The Physical Education (PE) Teacher is responsible for providing quality instruction in physical education and fostering an environment that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and a lifelong love of healthy living. This role includes developing and implementing PE curricula, encouraging students to be physically active, and supporting their overall well-being.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
     
    • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet state and district standards for physical education.
    • Instruct students in various physical activities, such as sports, fitness routines, and motor skills development.
    • Promote teamwork, cooperation, and positive sportsmanship among students.
    • Assess and track students’ physical progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
    • Foster a positive and safe learning environment by enforcing classroom and safety rules.
    • Adapt lessons and activities to accommodate students with different skill levels and abilities.
    • Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and school staff to support students’ academic and physical development.
    • Provide individual and group instruction, as needed, to support students in achieving their physical fitness goals.
    • Plan and supervise extracurricular sports activities, events, and competitions.
    • Maintain records of students’ attendance, performance, and participation in PE activities.
    • Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in physical education and health education.
    • Other related school duties
     
    Qualifications:
     
    • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
    • State certification as a PE teacher (or eligibility to obtain certification).
    • Experience teaching PE at the K-12 level is preferred.
    • Knowledge of age-appropriate physical activities and sports.
    • Ability to create a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Passion for promoting physical fitness, health, and wellness.
    • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
    Physical Demands: 
    • Ability to demonstrate physical activities and exercises.
    • Ability to sit, stand, or move for extended periods of time.
    • Must be able to lift and carry sports equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
    • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for activities and sports events.
    Work Environment: 
    • Some evening or weekend hours may be required for after-school sports activities or events.
    • Must be able to supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities.
    • Occasional travel for sports events and competitions.
