    Description

    Emergency Medicine Specialists of Orange County (EMSOC), a democratic Emergency Medicine medical group, is seeking a board certified/eligible pediatric emergency medicine physicians to join our Pediatric Emergency Medicine program. Our group provides services to Children's Hospital of Orange County(CHOC). It is a 279 bed, State of the Art, Regional Tertiary Care Hospital with 24-hour, in-house pediatric critical care specialists, a pediatric mental health inpatient center, and all major pediatric sub-specialties available on call. In the Emergency Department, physicians are supported by medical scribes, in person healthcare interpreters, social workers, spiritual services, child life, a mental health evaluation team, and allied health professionals including physician assistants and nurse practitioners. The Emergency Department has 39 beds with plans for additional expansion, manages a volume of over 100,000 pediatric patient visits per year, is Orange County’s only designated level 1 pediatric trauma center, and is a designated base station by Orange County EMS. Teaching responsibilities include supervision of residents of the combined CHOC Children’s Hospital / University of California, Irvine (UCI) pediatric residency program, UCI Emergency Medicine residency program, as well as physicians from neighboring institution’s Emergency Medicine and Family Practice residency programs.  Our PEM Fellowship program has received ACGME approval and will be Orange County’s first Pediatric Emergency Fellowship program. Our first Fellow will begin in July 2023.EMSOC offers excellent compensation, full and part time positions in a group including over 20 PEM boarded physicians.
