    Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a Pediatric General Surgeon, board-certified/board-eligible in Pediatric Surgery, to work at an established hospital in Metropolitan Atlanta, GA. Wellstar started expanding pediatric services ten years ago beyond ambulatory pediatrics and NICU and has built an extensive network of over 80 employed pediatricians, multiple pediatric subspecialities, a large pediatric ER volume of >100,000 pediatric patients per year, and over 14,000 newborn deliveries annually. This network of patients within the system supports the creation of a Pediatric Surgery program at Wellstar to provide excellent care to patients and families close to home and internal to the system.

    The incoming candidate can expect a schedule that would allow for 2 half days per week in the clinic in addition to elective and emergent surgeries. Candidate would likely be responsible for 7 days a month of call coverage with no trauma or ECMO responsibilities. Additional details include:
    Outpatient
    Outpatient clinic is located within walking distance to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital
    Well-rounded Pediatric Surgical practice with opportunities to build chest wall deformity program, bariatric program and develop robotic skills
    Immediate referrals from the large pediatric patient base from within the system and more

    Inpatient
    The incoming candidate will perform surgeries at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital
    Level 3 NICU at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital
    6 bed PICU at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital
    State of art Robotics and Laparoscopic Surgery
    Based upon current referrals, it is expected that the practice will build to approximately 1,000 surgical cases per year (400 cases performed in first year).

    Required Minimum Licensure/Certification: Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatric Surgery
    MD or DO
    J1 and H1 visas are considered
